School in the Mountains!

On Friday, all the schools headed up into the mountains to go skiing all day! They just decided to cancel classes and take a trip up there because the weather was going to be so nice! How cool is that?! American schools would never do such a thing! My teacher, Siv, brought me some cross country skis to try out. We also got some downhill skis and a snowboard to use! The adventure was on....

Me in the snowy mountains!

We started off on the flattest part with the cross country skiing. Gabby, Maggie, and myself all trekked off to attempt it. I began and fell within 3 minutes, haha. It was so difficult! I fell another time and then gave up! The other girls took a turn as I hung out with my teacher and watched all the little first graders do such an awesome job, they were so natural!

Me and one of my 1st graders. They were all SO good and SO cute skiing around everywhere!

We then had lunch then attempted to go down the "kid" hill. I went on the snowboard and Maggie used the downhill skis. It was quite hilarious! I could barely stand up on the snowboard without starting to slide down the hill. The snow was really packed and somewhat icy, making it hard to control where you would go. I had a pretty good fall towards the bottom of the hill and that helped me decide that my patience for adventure was just about done for the day!

Cross country skiing. quite fun!

Down I went...ha
I got up! for about 10 seconds...
Coming down! About to get off track! haha

We then headed back home! The ski day was over and I was exhausted, yet glad I was able to experience all that I did. Later that night 4 of us girls went to the Snikkeriet, it is a restaurant/bar here in Rosendal. Maggie and I ordered one rum and coke and it cost 95 kroner, or almost $17 in the US! We were for sure not having anymore! The place was very empty and not too exciting so we decided to go home then and hangout!

The Snikkeriet, where drinks are WAY too much for my liking. Still seemed like it can be fun!
The money here! It's weird getting used to such big amounts!
